Medavie’s internal career fair is a platform to learn about the fantastic work that various teams at Medavie are doing. It aims at providing visibility on development opportunities and career mobility pathways within Medavie.

This is an opportunity to interact with fellow Medavie colleagues, ask the questions that matter to you, and engage in conversations!

This event will help us live our values of accountability by taking ownership of our own career development. It is a platform for us to be responsive and innovative by asking questions, sharing ideas, and communicating openly. Importantly, Medavie places significant focus on the value of being community minded, and this event is a great platform to collaborate with colleagues across Medavie!

Preparing for the career fair

Before the event

Update your resume: Make sure you upload your latest resume while registration. This will help hiring teams get the full picture of your background, education and information on the great work you’ve been doing! Don’t let an incomplete or out-of-date resume keep you from getting discovered.
Do your homework: Find out which departments will be spotlighted and click through the internal career page to check out the job types, locations and roles that interest you and you feel you’d be a good fit for. Doing your homework will help you ask better questions during chats.
Come prepared to network This event is about building a relationship, jot down a few talking points and think of an “elevator pitch” about yourself—a short overview about your background, studies, and career goals.

During the event

Have a purpose: Understand what you want to gain, learn, or develop from your next role and be able to clearly articulate it.
Be impactful: Know the key values, abilities and skills that make you an asset at your current team. Be prepared to talk about your achievements and contributions in the current role.
Arrive on time: It’s very important to show up at your selected session start time. Being on time shows that you’re dependable and respectful of their time.
Understand that technical issues can happen : If they do, ask for help. We completely understand that these are sometimes unavoidable
Find a quiet spot free from distractions.

After the event

Connect with those you met with through LinkedIn. Make sure there’s a purpose to this connection - send a message with why you want to connect with them.
If you’re not ready to apply yet, save the jobs you like and start working on the skills required to apply to the roles of your interest.
Stay positive if recruitment consultants and hiring teams don’t respond right away. They are likely to be very busy and will revert if your profile is relevant to the role.

The fair will last 1.5 hours, with three virtual kiosks hosted by the following teams. You can attend all three sessions or choose just the ones that interest you most. Each team will lead a short, bilingual presentation followed by a Q&A round introducing the work they do and discussing their team’s job opportunities.

1 Who can participate in the internal job fair?

This event is open to Medavie employees. We plan to host four internal job fairs per year featuring departments and roles across Medavie.

2How will I benefit from attending the fair?

The fair is a great way for employees to network and learn about different departments and roles and explore internal career opportunities aligned to their individual skills, interests, and career goals.

3 Will there be interviews on-site at the internal career fair?

No, interviews will not be held on the day of the event. This is rather a platform to introduce yourself and showcase why you are a good fit. Use the chat feature to highlight your skills, experience, achievements and ask important questions about the roles that interest you.

4 How do I apply for a job during the job fair?

The application process needs to be completed on the Medavie Careers Page. The recruitment team will reach out to you if your profile is a good fit. Importantly, you can use this forum to ask questions, showcase your interest and fit for a role, and make valuable connections.

5 Do I need to inform my leader before applying to an internal job at Medavie?

It is highly recommended to inform your leader before applying to a new role with Medavie. This will help your leader manage your transition and subsequently plan the team’s work priorities. Have an honest conversation with your leader about your career goals and how they can help you develop and upskill.

6 Will there be any training opportunities available at the job fair?

Job fairs will typically include information sessions, webinars, and discussion forums to help you network and gain knowledge on the work that other departments are doing. Be sure to check out the agenda section for details on what to expect!

7 Is it mandatory to added the entire duration of the fair?

No, it is not mandatory. You can attend all the sessions or choose just the ones that interest you most.
